Red mites, also known as red bird mites, are small, red or grey mites that feed on the blood of chickens and birds at night. During the day they hide in cracks and crevices of the coop. Symptoms of the chicken or bird are pale combs, reduced egg production, restless behaviour and blood spots on the eggs.
The snake mite ( Ophionyssus natricis ) can be recognized in reptiles by small, black mites on the skin, especially around the eyes and mouth. Your pets may be irritated, scratch often and show skin problems. Snakes can also immerse themselves in the water bowl to get rid of the snake mite.
It is annoying when your pet gets stung by a wasp. You can use the environmentally friendly Wexit spray to keep wasps at bay.
