Product information

Carpo are microscopic nematodes that occur naturally in Dutch soil. The tiny worms invade caterpillars of the fig skeleton moth and secrete a bacterium that kills the caterpillar within 2-3 days. Carpo is known as a nematode that is effective at relatively high temperatures and can be used in summer.

The product is supplied in powder form. Carpo nematodes can easily be dissolved in water and distributed over the fig tree with a sprayer. An easy and natural way to combat boxwood caterpillars, without harming plants, bees, birds and mammals!

1. Dosage
• 5 million is enough for 10 m² of leaves
• 10 million is enough for 20 m² of leaves
• 25 million is enough for 50 m² of leaves
• 50 million is enough for 100 m² of leaves
• 250 million is enough for 500 m² of leaves

2. When to bet
Carpo can be applied as soon as caterpillars are observed.

Carpo works best when the temperature is between 15 °C and 30 °C. Carpo is best applied in the summer. The Felti nematode is better suited in spring and autumn when temperatures are colder.

Do not expose to direct sunlight: apply in the evening, morning or during cloudy weather.

3. Shelf life
It is advisable to use the nematodes as soon as possible. Do you want to keep the nematodes longer? Then store them in the refrigerator between 4 °C and 8 °C. The nematodes have a shelf life of 1 week after receipt, provided they are refrigerated. Do not store the water solution again.

4. Location
Carpo can easily be applied to the leaves with a sprayer. Make sure that the caterpillars are hit as best as possible, only then will they become infected with Carpo.

5. Repeat treatment
A one-time application does not guarantee that pest insects will be gone from the garden forever. Annual repeat treatments are therefore recommended. A pest that develops quickly may require multiple applications per season.

Under optimal conditions, Carpo can kill a caterpillar within 1-2 days. In practice, Carpo will have to find the caterpillar first. After 1-2 weeks, fewer fig skeleton tar moth caterpillars are present.

Carpo occurs naturally in Dutch soil. Carpo is a 100% natural product. The nematodes are not harmful to people, pets, bees, birds and earthworms.
