Nicus - against spider mites

Nicus bags contain 100 predatory mites of 0.6 mm in size that are specialized in preventing spider mites.
Nicus predatory mites are known as generalists: they eat a bit of everything. This means that the predatory mites can be used excellently as a preventative measure or for small numbers of pest insects. A predatory mite can eat up to 160 spider mite eggs in its lifetime.
The predatory mites are supplied in a specially developed cultivation bag. Approximately 2,000 predatory mites emerge from each bag in a period of between four and six weeks. This way the plant remains protected against spider mites for a long time.
Nicus is easy to apply. Hang the bags in the plants, close to the pest insects, and the predatory mites will do all the work. An easy and natural way to combat insect pests, without harming plants, bees, birds and mammals!

1. Dosage
1 cultivation bag of Nicus predatory mites is good for 1m² or 1 plant.

Overdose is not possible: the more predatory mites you use, the faster the spider mites will disappear.

2. When to bet
Nicus works best between 12 and 38 °C. Nicus is best used preventively or in the event of a mild infection. The predatory mite can be excellently combined with Persi predatory mites. The predatory mites are sensitive to dry environments (humidity < 60%).
Nicus predatory mites cannot be used on tomato plants. This is because the plant is too hairy for the predatory mites.

3. Shelf life
It is advisable to use the product as soon as possible. Do you want to keep the product longer? Then store cool at a temperature between 10-15 °C in a dark place. The product has a shelf life of 1-2 days after receipt. Nicus bags contain food for the predatory mites, so that they can survive transport.

4. Location
Nicus bags are best hung in the plants close to the pest. Place in a sheltered spot to avoid direct sunlight. Nicus can be used indoors, in a hobby greenhouse or on a balcony.

5. Repeat treatment
A one-time application does not guarantee that the pest will be gone from the plants forever. A restocking every 2 months is recommended to prevent spider mites.

Under optimal conditions, Nicus can eat 160 spider mite eggs in its lifetime. The plants are protected against spider mites for 1-2 months. In case of a serious infection, it is recommended to combine Nicus with Persi for optimal protection.

Nicus is a 100% natural product and can be used safely in the Netherlands. The predatory mite does not survive the winter climate and will therefore not be able to establish itself as an invasive species. Predatory mites are not harmful to people, pets, bees or birds.
