Irski - against thrips

Irski contains 250 predatory mites of 0.5 mm in size that like to eat thrips larvae.
The predatory mites are most hungry around 25 degrees: they then eat 4 thrips of larvae per day. Irski predatory mites are known as generalists: they eat a bit of everything. This means that the predatory mites can also be used preventively or for small numbers of pest insects. In addition to whiteflies, the hungry Irski mites also enjoy a snack of thrips, spider mites or pollen.

The predatory mites are supplied in a specially developed cultivation bag. The 250 predatory mites multiply to up to 800 predatory mites in a period of between four and six weeks. Because predatory mites gradually leave the bags, your plant remains protected against thrips for several weeks.
Irski is easy to apply. Hang the bags in the plants, close to the pest insects, and the predatory mites will do all the work. An easy and natural way to combat insect pests, without harming plants, bees, birds and mammals!

1. Dosage
1 cultivation bag with 250 predatory mites is enough for 1m² or 1 plant.

The above dosage is an indication. Overdose is not possible.

2. When to bet
Irski works best between 18 and 32 °C. Irski can be used preventively or in the event of a mild infection. The predatory mites are sensitive to dry environments (humidity < 60%).
Predatory mites cannot be used on tomato plants. This is because the leaves have hairs that are too sticky for the predatory mites.

3. Shelf life
It is advisable to use the product as soon as possible. Do you want to keep the product longer? Then store cool at a temperature between 10-15 °C in a dark place. The product has a shelf life of 1-2 days after receipt. Irski bags contain food for the predatory mites, so that they can survive transport.

4. Location
It is best to hang Irski bags close to the pest in the plants. Place in a sheltered spot to avoid direct sunlight, strong winds and rain. Irski can be used indoors, in a hobby greenhouse or outdoors.


5. Repeat treatment
A one-time application does not guarantee that the pest will be gone from the plants forever. Restocking every other month is recommended in case of a serious infestation.

Under optimal conditions, Irski can eat 4 thrips larvae per day. After 1-2 weeks there are visibly fewer thrips larvae present.

In case of a serious infestation, use of Carna and Felti is recommended. This also tackles the pupae and adult thrips and prevents the adult thrips from laying eggs.

Irski is a 100% natural product and can be used safely in the Netherlands. The predatory mite does not survive the winter climate and will therefore not be able to establish itself as an invasive species. Predatory mites are not harmful to people, pets, bees or birds.

People who are allergic to crustaceans, shellfish and/or dust mites may have an allergic reaction when using Irski. Use of gloves is recommended
