Product information

Phora are microscopic nematodes that occur naturally in Dutch soil. The small worms penetrate vine weevil larvae in the soil and secrete a bacterium that kills the larva within 2-3 days. Phora is known as a nematode specialized in controlling beetles.

The product is supplied in powder form. Phora nematodes can easily be dissolved in water and distributed over the soil with a watering can or sprayer. An easy and natural way to combat vine beetles, without harming plants, bees, birds and mammals!

1. Dosage
• 25 million is enough for 50 m² of soil garden
• 50 million is enough for 100 m² of soil garden
• 250 million is enough for 500 m² of soil garden

Spraying on the leaves is not effective, the nematodes only work in the soil.

2. When to bet
Phora works best when the soil temperature is between 19°C and 33°C. Phora is not effective at a soil temperature below 10 °C. Do not expose to direct sunlight: apply in the evening, morning or during cloudy weather. After application, it is important to keep the soil moist for another two weeks so that the nematodes do not dry out.

3. Shelf life
It is advisable to use Phora as soon as possible. Do you want to keep Phora longer? Then store the product in the refrigerator between 4 °C and 8 °C. The nematodes have a shelf life of 1 week after receipt, provided they are refrigerated. Do not store the water solution again.

4. Location
Phora can easily be applied to the soil of the garden with a watering can or sprinkler.

5. Repeat treatment
A one-time application does not guarantee that pest insects will be gone from the garden forever. Annual repeat treatments are therefore recommended. A pest that develops quickly may require multiple applications per season.

Under optimal conditions, Phora can kill an insect larva within 1-2 days. In practice, the nematode will have to find the larva first. After 1-2 weeks, fewer pest insects are present.

Phora nematodes are widespread in the soil in Europe. Phora is a 100% natural product. The nematodes are not harmful to people, pets, bees, birds and earthworms.
