Crypto - against mealybugs

Crypto bags contain 30 larvae of a beetle belonging to the ladybug family. The white, fluffy larvae are about 0.5 cm in size.
Crypto ladybugs specialize in cleaning up mealybugs, but can also eat scale insects and aphids. The larvae can eat up to 30 mealybugs per day.

Crypto larvae come in a paper bag with buckwheat hulls and food.
The Crypto larvae are supplied including release boxes. The expansion boxes can be hung throughout the plant and Crypto can get started right away. An easy and natural way to combat insect pests, without harming plants, bees, birds and mammals!

1. Dosage
1 bag with 30 larvae is enough for 1 m² or 1 large houseplant.

Overdose is not possible: the more Crypto you use, the faster the mealybugs will disappear.

2. When to bet
Crypto likes temperatures above 16°C, but is most active and effective between 21 and 28°C. Crypto is best used as soon as you find mealybugs in your plants.

3. Shelf life
It is advisable to use the product as soon as possible. Do you want to keep the product longer? Then store cool at a temperature between 10-15 °C in a dark place. The product has a shelf life of 1-2 days after receipt. Crypto bags contain food for the beetle larvae, so that they can survive transport.

4. Location
Crypto is best placed close to the mealybug in the plant. Place in a sheltered spot to avoid direct sunlight, strong winds and rain. Crypto can be used indoors, in a hobby greenhouse or outdoors.

5. Repeat treatment
A one-time application does not guarantee that the pest will be gone from the plants forever. A restocking every 2 months is recommended to prevent mealybugs.

Under optimal conditions, one Crypto larva can eat 250 mealybugs in its larval stage. A hungry larva can eat 30 larvae per day.
The larvae live for about 1 month (depending on the amount of food available) and during this period they protect your houseplant against mealybugs.

After about 1 month the larvae pupate into adult ladybugs. The beetles have wings and can therefore spread through your house to a limited extent. If you do not find this desirable, you can carefully bring the creatures outside.

Crypto is a 100% natural and organic product. The product can be used safely in the Netherlands. The beetle does not survive the winter climate and will therefore not be able to establish itself as an invasive species. Crypto is not harmful to people, pets, bees or birds.
