Product information

Phasma are microscopic nematodes that occur naturally in the soil. The tiny worms enter slugs underground and secrete a bacterium that kills the slug within 1-2 days. Phasma is active in the soil for 4 to 6 weeks.

The product is supplied in powder form. Phasma nematodes can easily be dissolved in water and distributed over the (vegetable) garden or hobby greenhouse with a watering can or sprayer. An easy and natural way to combat slugs, without harming plants, bees, birds and mammals!

1. Dosage
1 package (10 million nematodes) is enough for 30 m² of garden.

Overdose is not possible: the more Phasma you use, the faster the slugs will disappear.

2. When to bet
Phasma can be applied from March to October, as soon as slugs are observed. The product is best applied during the period when the slugs are laying eggs. This is generally in the spring (March and April) and in the autumn (September and October).

Phasma works best when the soil temperature is between 10 °C and 30 °C.

Do not expose to direct sunlight: apply in the evening, morning or during cloudy weather. After application, it is important to keep the soil moist for another two weeks so that the nematodes do not dry out.

3. Shelf life
It is advisable to use Phasma as soon as possible. Do you want to keep the nematodes longer? Then store them in the refrigerator between 4ºC and 8ºC. The nematodes have a shelf life of 3 days after receipt, provided they are refrigerated. Do not store the water solution again.

4. Location
Phasma can easily be applied to the garden soil with a watering can or sprayer. Ideal for vegetable gardens, ornamental beds and other places where slugs are found.

5. Repeat treatment
A one-time application does not guarantee that the slugs will be gone from the garden forever. Annual repeat treatments are therefore recommended. With high pest pressure, repeat treatments are recommended every 4-6 weeks.

Under optimal conditions, Phasma can kill a slug within 1-2 days. In practice, the nematode will have to find the slug first. After 1-2 weeks there are fewer slugs present.

Phasma is a 100% natural product and can be used safely in the Netherlands. Phasma is not harmful to people, pets, plants, earthworms, bees or birds.
