Puncta - against aphids

Puncta contains larvae of the two-spotted ladybug, a cute insect that is common in Dutch nature. After being released, the hungry ladybird larvae immediately look for aphids and eat them. Puncta is particularly useful in case of an aphid infestation in trees or shrubs.

The larvae are supplied in a paper bag with buckwheat hulls, including a cotton bag to scatter the larvae in and hang them in the plant. An easy and natural way to combat aphids, without harming plants, bees, birds and mammals!

1. Dosage
1 package (100 larvae) is enough for:
• 5 m² for a vegetable garden or low plants up to 60cm
• 2 m² for tall plants up to 100cm or hedges
• 5 medium-sized houseplants

The above dosages are an indication. Overdose is not possible.

2. When to bet
Puncta can be used as soon as the first aphid is observed. The sooner you use Puncta, the more effective the control will be. Place between 12 and 30 °C. Puncta is most effective between 15 and 30 °C.

3. Shelf life
It is advisable to use Puncta as soon as possible after receipt. If you want to store the bag after receiving it, you can do so for a maximum of 1 day in a dark and ventilated place at 12-14 °C. Do not store in the refrigerator.

4. Location
Puncta can be used in the (vegetable) garden, in the hobby greenhouse, on the balcony or in house plants.

5. Repeat treatment
A one-time application does not guarantee that aphids will be gone forever. Repeat treatments are therefore recommended. If you see groups of aphids close together, repeat after 2 weeks or combine with Plant Soap.

On average, a ladybug larva eats 200-300 aphids in its life. The effectiveness depends on temperature, type of aphid, height and type of plant.

After 2 weeks you should see a reduction in the infestation.

Look after! Ants can get in the way of Puncta's work. For example, lure ants away by placing tubes with honey in them.

After 4-6 weeks the larvae can pupate into adult ladybugs. This will only happen if the larvae have eaten enough and there are no Puncta predators nearby. The adult Puncta beetles also eat aphids.

Puncta is a native species and is commonly found in nature in the Netherlands. Puncta is a 100% natural product. The ladybugs (larvae) are not harmful to people, pets, bees or birds and do not affect the plant. After the pest has been cleared, Puncta will disappear from the plants automatically due to a lack of food.
